In 18th century, the Dasheri mango first appeared in the gardens of Nawab of Lucknow, since then the numbers of Dasheri plants have been produced and planted throughout India.
People from village Dasheri near Kakori, Uttar Pradesh believe that they have the mother plant of Dasheri mango which gave this variety of mango the same name of their native land. Dasheri variety of mango is extensively cultivated on large scale and for export purposes in different parts of North India, Nepal and Pakistan. In Pakistan, it is grown in one of the best fertilized and high nutrient-enriched lands of Mirpur Khas and Haiderabad of Sindh province of Pakistan.
